First Go-Round of Adequan/USEF National Reining Championship & Official Team Selection Trail - RESULTS!

Intense competition is under way at the Adequan/USEF National Reining Championship and Official Team Selection Trial.

Here are the top five scores from today's first go-round:

Shawn Flarida - RC Fancy Step - 223.5
Craig Schmersal - Boom Shernic - 221
Andrea Fappani - 221
Craig Schmersal - 220.5
Tom McCutcheon - 220.5

For a full set of results, click here.

The scores from the first and second (final) go-rounds are combined to make a composite score which will determine the US National Champion as well as taking the top five composite scores as the US team for the World Equestrian Games. The team is comprised of four competing horse and rider combinations and one travelling alternate.

The eyes of the world look on Oklahoma City and the inaugural Battle in the Saddle this Saturday for the second go-round and the composite of the finals to determine who will represent the United States at the WEG. Always a strong contender, the US looks to fetch gold on home soil as these are the first Games ever outside of Europe and the third Games (held every four years just like World Cup Soccer) for inclusion of the western sport of reining.

HorsePower is proud to be the Organizing Committee for the USEF National Championship and a part of the management team along with our friends at AQHA at this exciting event!
