Compeition is Heating up at the Texas Classic

We've got five days of competition under our belt at the Texas Classic and there are no sign of a slowdown.

Wednesday marked the beginning of two full days of roping classes in the Coliseum presented by Jewett Performance Horses. Hundreds of ropers will resume tomorrow, under the same schedule and in true Texas Classic style, triple judged. We would like to thank the following roping circuit award sponsors for their generosity and support of the Texas Classic.

Jr. Heeling, Amateur Breakaway & Amateur Heeling: M-K Quarter Horses
Jr. Heading & Sr. calf Roping: Smart Chemical Services & Scott Jones
Amateur Heading: Darrel Elliot Equine Services
Sr. Heading & Sr. Heeling: Western Horseman
Jr. Calf Roping: Logan Performance Horses
Amateur Calf Roping:Barton Performance Horses

The afternoon in the John Justin Arena, presented by Sea Ridge Farms, was all about the Champion of Champions classes. Jamie West-Genzer riding Southern N Sweet and Kadra Lee Dunlap riding Rebel Jim McCloud both received Skyline Silversmiths belt buckles for Novice Amateur Hunter Under Saddle Champion of Champions and Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation Champion of Champions classes, respectively. Both individuals qualified for the Champion of Champions classes by placing first, second or third at TQHA approved shows. Champion of Champions classes apply to Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Reining, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Riding and Trail.
