The Swedish National Championship Concours de Reining Internationale is Proud to Announce Partnership with the American Quarter Horse Association

March 30, 2010- Bokeberg, Sweden- On behalf of the Swedish Reining Horse Association, The Swedish National Championship Concours de Reining Internationale is proud to announce a major partnership with the American Quarter Horse Association in the presentation of the 2010 inaugural event, scheduled for April 16-18, 2010.

The AQHA, on behalf of its international affiliate, the Swedish Quarter Horse Association, has supplied major funding of the event as a part of the Association's continuing effort to increase the exposure and awareness of the American Quarter Horse around the world.

Vital to the process of selecting and advancing a team of Swedish atletes to the World Equestrian Games this fall, the back-to-back Concours de Reining International (CRI) classes meet the requirements of the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body for the sport of reining and sactioning body of the CRI classes in Sweden.

"As a part of AQHA's international plan business funding model, the Association has encouraged and is working with its international affiliates to increase activities for American Quarter Horses in the various countries," said David Avery, AQHA Director of International Programs. Funding for the CRI events at the FEI level, such as the Swedish National Championship CRI is available through AQHA and the individual countries. For more information on AQHA'a international activities, contact the Association at 806-376-4811.

In conjunction with the WRIS Spring Break Show at the beautiful Bokeberg facility just east of Malmo in southern Sweden, the event offers back-to-back CRI competitions in one weekend which is sure to draw the most elite reining competitors from throughout Northern Europe and Scandanavia as riders strive to qualify and make their respective teams for the highly-anticipated Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Born of the manuevers a western working ranch horse must perform on the ranch, the sport of reining is the only western discipline in the FEI family adn will enjoy a homecoming, of sorts, at the Games hosted for the first time in the USA. However, it's no longer just a North American sport. Reining can be found on six continents and more than 30 nations, including Sweden.
